The sane: Dora, Gemini, Spektre
The mildly insane: HogRider
The insane: Danger
Note: Let’s remember that a Rightwinger recently invaded Gemini’s private life. You can make of it what you will from reading Dana’s chat on my blog. The chatter Gemini was so disturbed, outraged, and felt so violated that she had to abandon chatting here, especially chatting with that chatter, for a few weeks to sort it all out. Luckily, Gemini returned and here she displays her thoughtful posts, primarily with another thoughtful chatter, Spektre.

Gemini: Spektre, I wonder how many abortions are performed, daily, on teenagers who come from very conservative households... *Shhhh...this will be our little secret*
Dora: Gemini, well it's probably not gays who are having abortions.
Spekter: Gemini, if they have greater means to money, and a private doctor...likely there will be no, or certainly LESS statistics on this. If abortion were made against the law, the only ones that would have them are well to do girls.
HogRider: Gemini, You need to look in Pol's ass for the answer.........................
Gemini: Spektre, I used to work at a Jesuit college, two blocks from Planned Parenthood. Guess where the majority of the Planned Parenthood services went? Then guess where the majority of their support came from?
Danger: Gemini, Jesuit faculty was using Planned Parenthood?
Gemini: Hint: The (abortion ) supporters were NOT the same as those most likely to use the services.
Spektre: Money buys anything, even if a service (such as abortion in some states) is illegal, money allows you to get around it. If abortion is made illegal, this will allow well-to-do girls to still get them, perhaps from private doctors, who will refer them to a doctor in canada or something. The black girls, poor girls...off to the alley and a coathanger would be my bet.
Gemini: Spektre, majority of services went to students and faculty/staff at the college. Majority of support came from the off-campus community. Gemini: Spek, in other words, it was not the ''welfare moms and daughters'' as Reaganzo the idiot indicated that would do it most likely, it was mostly well to do families, white women.
Spektre: Gemini, which is why I would never support making abortion illegal. I'd approach it from the other side to reduce it, and that is through education, and increased access to healthcare and contraception. Yet the religious right, or at least a good portion of them, don't like that avenue either. What they want....then...is to hold women, especially poor women...down.
Gemini: Spektre, absolutely. Contraception and ''pregnancy alternatives'' have always been more available to women with the means to purchase them. Poor women have babies.
Danger: Gemini, not if I have anything to say about it.
Gemini: Danger, people won't stand for outlawing abortion. If abortion were outlawed, the pro-abortion people would be making as much noise as the anti-abortion people do now. The only reason the proabortion people don't make noise is they are not worried about losing the right. They are in the majority, after all.
